The Decision Register
In my solopreneurship journey, I’m faced with tough choices every single day.
A single decision can have a massive impact on the trajectory of my life and career.
Improving your judgement and getting better at decision making are incredibly valuable skills to develop.
That’s exactly why The Decision Register resonated so much with me. I heard it on the MFM Podcast in this episode.
The concept is simple.
Whenever a (big) life decision comes up, you answer a set of questions in the moment.
Then you revisit the decision at a later stage to see how it played out and what you’ve learned from it.
These are the questions:
What is the decision, explain why I’m doing this in a tweet length
What alternative consider any alternatives
What are my feelings? (Extreme fear, pessimism, neutral, boredom, fatigue, greed, fomo)
how long have I been thinking about this?
Who and what tipped me over the edge?
What are the secondary benefits of this?
If I took away all the secondary benefits, would I still do it?
What makes me think I’m right?
What makes me think I might be wrong?
What’s the upside if I’m right?
What’s the downside if I’m wrong?
How do I predict this will play out?
What date will you revisit this?
I’ve turned this into a Notion template + decision database so I can start logging the important life decisions I make in life.

Bootstrapping a 1M a year business
I come from a product background and tend to think in products as solutions to customer problems.
This article makes a great point though. People don’t need products, they need their problems solved. They need outcomes.
Offering a service allows you to drive valuable outcomes right away, plus it generates cashflow.
As you gain customers and see similar problems, you can start building software to automate parts of the process.
And voila, you now have a product business that was funded and researched through a cash-flow generating service based business.
It’s a smart approach.
Cohort course start
Over the last weeks I’ve been hard at work on my PM course.
The first cohort starts next week and I couldn’t be more excited (and scared at the same time 😅).
I’m designing it to be as interactive as possible so students can really engage and learn about mastering Product Management.
It’s quite a hill to climb.
The first cohort is always the toughest, especially without a large audience to hop on straight away, which is the case for me.
I’ve still managed to sell a bunch of seats and hope more people will continue hopping in as the time to enrol slowly expires.
The deadline to signup is next Monday the 31st.
If you know anyone that could benefit from the course, I’d be super grateful if you could share this link with them!
If you enjoyed this email, feel free to share it with a friend. It really helps :)
Cheers,
